Yea dude, I obviously was going off memory, but just seeing that mario pose throwing the fireball all red on a red background it was just super familiar.

It was this issue of Edge magazine, which is a really good UK magazine for gamers and game developers alike, as the focus audience is the industry and not just the consumer as is the case with EGM and the GamePro magazines. Anyways the backside of that issue had the fire throwing mario, and I can't find a picture but I did find my copy of it. After looking at it again, yea it's not that similar, but it's got a red background and the same screenshot of mario throwing a fireball. I was more or less speaking my mind, I can definitely see the work you put into it.

i took a pic of a moth, and a pic of a flame, and then just distorted and duplicated the flame until the flames overlaid the moth
